pandemonium
BY: LAUREN OLIVER
After being rescued Lena met Raven and Track, they both worked in the resistance that were trying to stop DFA. An organization that made a procedure that prevented people to fall in love. During a rally, while someone was trying to assassinate the president of the DFA, his son, Julian Fineman was captured by Scavengers and somehow Lena got involved. They were put into the same cell and as they were being held captive they started to get to know each other making Julian fall in love with Lena. Sooner or later Julian was taken to be asked questions. When he returned he was terribly injured and was very hateful towards Lena. As they reconnected they decided to escape, but later on Julian was recaptured and was taken to get his procedure done, but then Lena saves him and escape into the wild together. At the end of the book she finds out Alex is alive, but he wasn't in great shape. Since I enjoyed Delirium so much I thought I should read the next book in the series. There was another cliffhanger at the end which again, makes me want to read the next book. I thought it was great though it saddens me Alex wasn't there. I recommend this to anyone that likes Romance.

Pretties
by: Scott westerfeld
A book about a girl named Tally that is a "Pretty". While attending a party she meets a Special named Zane that seems to make her remember some of her 'ugly' memories. After getting knocked out in the party she Zane brought her to his home. Once she woke up they kind of made a special bond together leading her to tell about this person named Croy that had left her something to find. Zane once remembered a person named Croy so decided to come help her find the item Croy left for Tally. The item were two pills and a letter for Tally explaining why she became pretty. Somewhere in the letter also explained what the pills were for. They were maybe or maybe not a cure, since during the surgery pretties brains are changed so the doctor that made the pills thought it would cure their way of thinking and make them "Bubbly". Since they kind of had a special bond they took it together which lead Zane having terrible head aches and leaving Tally with almost no symptoms and apparently it worked. Tally later decides to go to the New Smokes leaving Zane, but while getting there she falls into a reservation. The people there seemed to be very violent so she escaped. She stayed in the Rusty Ruins and met David, who she used to love when she was still a ugly. He was suppose to transport her somewhere. Once she arrived she was told that the pills Zane and her took were only meant for one person so, they did not affect anything. She got caught by some specials and finds out Shay has turned into a special. At the end of the book Shay knocks Tally out and making her become a special. I didn't understand this book, maybe because I didn't read the first one in the series. They kept adding these new characters and by the end of it I just wanted it to be over. The only reason I read the book was because of the good reviews, but I guess it wasn't for me. I recommend this to any one that likes Sci-Fi books.

DELIRIUM
BY: LAUREN oLIVER
A book about a 17 year old girl named Lena about to turn 18 living in a society that love is a disease. At the age of 18, citizens had to go through this procedure that would decide everything. People that has done the procedure are usually called a 'cure'. Lena was the very few people that was excited about the procedure, she believed that love was a sickness, a crime, since it took away her mother. Until she met Alex, an invalid that impersonated as a cure to avoid being captured. At first she didn't like him, but as they kept meeting and opening up to each other they eventually fell in love. And Alex being an invalid didn't change that. 7 days before her procedure she decided to run away with Alex after finding out she was lied to about her mother's death. As they tried to escape, Alex allowed himself to get caught in order to protect Lena, his last words to her were "run" and she did run, as fast as she can so his decision wouldn't have been pointless. I'm not really into romance, but this book surely changed my perspective of it. I thought the development of Lena and Alex was great although it was a little slow. The cliffhanger at the end made me want to read the next book in the series. And I love how every chapter I read there was this poem or quote at the top. I extremely suggest this book to anyone that like fiction and romantic novels.

Hatchet

Introduction: Hatchet is a great book, but it just wasn't for me. Its more of a survival book and I'm really more into action, if you like survival books then this book would be perfect for you. This is just my opinion though.
Characters: Brian had a great character development, I'm surprised he didn't give up and was still alive. He's a smart boy, he used his resources well.
Setting: Canadian Forest
Plot: A boy named Brian surviving a plane crashing and only having a hatchet his mother gave and other resources.
Genre: Survival
Rating: 3/5 stars
